This September eclipse season highlighted the Virgo-Pisces axis of our chart.

Two weeks ago, the Pisces part of our chart faced a culmination or an ending, which has grown clearer over the past two weeks.

This solar eclipse in Virgo asks us to pause. It calls on us to remember the greater purpose, and adjust our actions accordingly. This New Moon beckons us to nurture what remains after the Pisces eclipse, to prune what has ended, and to clear the soil for the new beginnings we’ll cultivate over the next six months.

Virgo is self-sufficient and independent. She is no feeble maiden. Her virginity has nothing to do with chastity or morality. It’s about fierce idependence. Virgo is aware some will ostracize her for her choices. But she is devoted to her calling. Her sickle and a flail prove that she is not scared of slicing, cutting, or pruning in pursuit of her calling. She is willing to make the necessary sacrifices. Virgo is the ultimate sovereign, reclaiming herself and following her true path.

When you find yourself in the middle of a storm, the only way out is through, and it demands acceptance and surrender. This is what this lunar eclipse requires of us.

This eclipse in Pisces asks us to hold and tend to moments of complex and shifting emotional truths, which in time will give way to new identities and pursuits. 

I find myself sitting next to my grandmother as she rests and hides from the midday sun in her room, surrounded by four altars. Her connection to spirituality and the cycles of nature are still strong. We’ve recently had long talks about ancestor veneration, spirituality, and omens. She reminds me that knowing and seeing is a gift, even if we never fully understand it.

This New Moon, I hope you remember that you are not powerless, and you are not alone. Though it might seem bleak, there still exists the hope and the possibility of a greater vision for all of us. Nobody knows that better than Aquarius.

As Mars turns retrograde in Leo today, we begin a new journey. We revisit our capacity to express our anger in healthy ways. We will review our boundaries and the ways we keep ourselves safe. We will have to contend with the ways in which we abandon ourselves exactly at the moment when we should stand up and be our authentic selves. This retrograde, Mars has to rethink his approach and direction. 

This December, we are faced with a test of our faith and our limits. We have an expansive grand vision. But the journey to make our dreams a reality will require patience and the willingness to change.
